1st Kayak Championship

Ranjan Kandel and Rabin Chepang won the 1st Kayak Championship titles in Kathmandu. Ranjan won Bordercross, while Rabin took the Freestyle title in Trishuli River's Phisling. Ranjan recently won bronze at the Asian Wild Water Canoeing Championship in China.

Other winners:
- Bordercross: Mohan Rana (2nd), Laxman Gurung (3rd)
- Freestyle: Amrit Thapa (2nd), Mohan Rana (3rd and Overall Champion)

Winners received cash prizes: Gold (Rs 15,000), Silver (Rs 10,000), Bronze (Rs 5,000). The event was organized by Himalayan River Guide Association, Nepal Rafting and Canoeing Association President Rajiv Shrestha distributing prizes.
